Rainy Season Is Here: A 5-Minute Car Checklist

Metro Manila rain doesn't announce itself politely. One minute it's tindahan-bright, the next your wipers are losing the fight. A few minutes of prep can save you a stressful (and expensive) week.

Start with your wipers. If they streak, chatter, or skip, the rubber is shot — swap them. It's the cheapest safety upgrade you can buy.

Check your tires next. Tread depth matters more than ever on wet roads; a worn tire hydroplanes far sooner. Slot a coin into the tread — if it disappears, you're fine; if not, come see us.

Test every light: headlights, brake lights, hazards. Visibility is a two-way street during a downpour. Then peek at your brakes — soft pedal or squealing means don't wait.

Finally, know your routes. Avoid the usual flood-prone underpasses, and if water reaches your door sill, turn around. No errand is worth a hydrolocked engine. Tara, drive safe — and if anything feels off, the kettle's already on.
